Making a good chip pan for your band saw is much easier than you think. It will also help keep that shop broom hanging on its hook and collecting dust! I recycled an old bread baking pan and a piece of scrap sheet metal to make mine. You can find a baking pan at a garage sale or thrift store, or maybe in your own kitchen (ask permission first!).

First, drill a pair of holes into the side of the saw base frame for some pan head machine screws. Then, screw the scrap sheet metal to the pan and cut key-slotted holes in the sheet metal that will match the aforementioned pair of holes. Put the screws in the saw, hook the slotted holes over the screws, and you’re all set.
